Other Charitable Contributions and Fundraiser
The Foodbank offers emergency food to people in need and works to end food poverty and hunger in local communities and across the United Kingdom. Stoke-on-Trent Foodbank created a campaign #21for2021, where NEIDA, alongside 20 local businesses, pledged £1,000 to ensure continued support to those in our local community. In 2021, the Foodbank had seen an increase in the use of its services by individuals in the local community. At NEIDA, we recognised this increasing need, which £250 was donated for food vouchers alongside regular food donations to allow local people to get the services they need. In November, the British Turned Parts Manufacturing Association held a Charity Auction Evening for BBC Children in Need. The evening proved to be a huge success, with the BTMA members raising a total of £6,200 for BBC Children in Need, with NEIDA contributing £1,620. The money raised will help support children and young people experiencing disadvantage throughout the UK.
Finance Manager Sharon Brown, sponsored by NEIDA, took on the 13.1 mile Potters’ Arf Marathon challenge, raising just over £400 for the mental health charity Mind. North Staffs Mind is a significant, empowering mental health charity that serves North Staffordshire and beyond, providing thousands of individuals with safe, specialised help every year.
