After completing one week of work experience in the Quality Department at NEIDA Head Office, Tom enrolled on an EAL Level 3 Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering with a technical support technician pathway. Tom is also enrolled on a CNC Programming and CAD course at Newcastle College, which will help him better understand how the parts at NEIDA are manufactured.

NEIDA has Mechanical and Electrical Engineering apprenticeship schemes at our manufacturing sites in Stoke-on-Trent and the Isle-of-Wight; this is the first apprenticeship specifically tailored to quality and inspection modules.

Offering support to the Quality Department, Modules will include;

  • Inspecting mechanical products.
  • Checking and calibrating mechanical inspection equipment.
  • Resolving engineering or manufacturing support problems.
  • Implementing quality control systems and procedures in an engineering environment.
