As a precision-turned and milled components manufacturer, NEIDA continues to strategically invest in cutting-edge machinery. With a staggering 115 machines, NEIDA’s acquisitions in 2022 include Escomatic Machines (NM6 Flexi and D5 Ultra), Star machines (ST-38, SL-10, SR-32JIII B, SR32J, SR-20R IV), and a Miyano BNE-65 MYY, demonstrating NEIDA’s commitment to delivering unparalleled precision and performance, with a significant investment of £3 Million in 2022. With a diverse range of CNC, Multi-Spindle, and CAM machines, NEIDA’s UK manufacturing locations produce precision turned parts for various sectors, including Automotive, Access & Security, Medical, Electronics, and Interconnect.
NEIDA’s acquisition of Escomatic machines, including the NM6 Flexi and D5 Ultra, brings NEIDA’s Group machine count to 51 Escomatic Machines located at NEIDA’s Stoke-on-Trent Manufacturing Facilities, to satisfy continued growth. These new Escomatic investments are suited to electronic interconnect and micro components. Escomatic CAM Machines, manufacturing smaller diameter components in high volume, take advantage of coil-fed technology to eliminate material waste and reduce loading times. Escomatic CNC Machines share the high productivity advantages of the CAM machine while also offering greater flexibility, stability, and precision. The CNC technology allows for quick adjustments and complex component production with high accuracy.
NEIDA’s investment in Star Machines includes the ST-38, SL-10, SR-32JIII B, SR32J, and SR-20R IV. These new additions take NEIDA Group machine count of Star CNC Sliding Head to 35, which are located at both NEIDA’s manufacturing sites in Stoke-on-Trent and the Isle of Wight. With an ever-increasing demand for high-precision, small-diameter components, these new machines have been acquired to fulfil capacity requirements. Sliding Head machines allow for two components to be produced simultaneously and have driven tooling, which enables a variety of processes to take place in the primary and sub-spindles at the same time. This means NEIDA has the capability to manufacture complex components in a single operation, allowing for reduced cycle times and a more efficient operation.
Further expanding our machining capabilities and maximizing productivity at NEIDA’s manufacturing facility on the Isle of Wight, NEIDA acquired its third Miyano, a BNE-65 MYY machine, increasing NEIDA’s capabilities to produce components with diameters up to 65mm. Following a review of NEIDA’s Fixed Head Section and the type of products and markets that NEIDA has entered, the investment in the Miyano has brought significant benefits. The components produced have considerably improved cycle times, with enhanced process stability and a reduced footprint. The Miyano BNE-65 MYY is equipped with dual spindles and multiple turrets, enabling simultaneous machining on both ends of a component, significantly increasing throughput and precision.
